A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS
DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (TDEM)FOR THE HAZARD
MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM (HMGP)RELATED TO FEMA-DR-4586
(SEVERE WINTER STORMS)AND DR-4572 (HURRICANE LAURA)FOR THE
CITY'S WATER AND WASTEWATER FACILITIES FOR INCREASED
OPERATIONS DURING EMERGENCY EVENTS;AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH
BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN IN THE CUMULATIVE AMOUNT OF FIVE
HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/I 00 DOLLARS ($500,000.00);DESIGNATING AN
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE;AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO
ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Manager of the City of Baylown is hereby authorized to submit two
(2) grant applications to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM)for the Hazard Mitigation
Grant Program (HMGP)related to FEMA-DR-4586 (Severe Winter Storms)and DR-4572 (Hurricane
Laura)in an amount not to exceed ONE MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00)for each
grant application,for the City's water and wastewater facilities for increased operations during emergency
events.
Section 2:That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in
an amount not to exceed TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($250,000.00)
for each grant in accordance with the requirements of each grant authorized in Section 1.
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all
purposes under the grants.
Section 4:That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award
that may result from the above applications.
Section 5:This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
