A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA
WATER AUTHORITY ("BAWA") AUTHORIZING THE GENERAL MANAGER TO
MAKE APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DIVISION OF EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT (TDEM) FOR THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM
(HMGP) RELATED TO FEMA-DR-4586 (SEVERE WINTER STORMS) AND DR-4572
(HURRICANE LAURA) FOR BAWA'S SURFACE WATER TREATMENT
FACILITIES FOR INCREASED OPERATIONS DURING EMERGENCY EVENTS;
AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH BY THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND
NO/100 DOLLARS ($250,000.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR
AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY:
Section 1: That the General Manager of the Baytown Area Water Authority ("BAWA") is
hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM)
for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) related to FEMA-DR4586 (Severe Winter Storms) and
DR-4572 (Hurricane Laura) in an amount not to exceed ONE MILLION AND N01100 DOLLARS
($1,000,000.00) for BAWA's surface water treatment facilities for increased operations during emergency
events,
Section 2: That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes a cash match in an amount not to
exceed TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($250,000.00) in accordance
with the grant authorized in Section 1.
Section 3: That the General Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative
for all purposes under the grant
Section 4: That the General Manager is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award
that may result from the above application.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority.
