A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE AN APPLICATION TO THE
TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR THE FY2022 LOCAL PARKS
NON-URBAN OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF
SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($750,000.00)FOR
A NEW PARK LOCATED AT 4000 TOMPKINS DRIVE;AUTHORIZING A MATCH
TO BE PROVIDED,IN PART,FROM THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PROPERTY,
CASH,AND IN-KIND LABOR,NOT TO EXCEED SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY
THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($750,000.00);AUTHORIZING THE
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY
RESULT THEREFROM;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make an
application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the FY2022 Local Parks Non-Urban Outdoor
Recreation Grant Program in the amount of SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO//100
DOLLARS ($750,000.00)for a new park located at 4000 Tompkins Drive.
Section 2:That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a match to be
provided,in part, from the purchase price of the property,cash and in-kind labor, not to exceed SEVEN
HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($750,000.00).
Section 3:That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all
purposes under the grant.
Section 4:That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 5:This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
