AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
RENEWING THE ANNUAL POLICE UNIFORM CONTRACT WITH GALLS,LLC,F/K/A
RED THE UNIFORM TAILOR,THROUGH A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE
CITY OF FRISCO,FOR THE PURCPIASE OF POLICE UNIFORMS AND BODY ARMOR;
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED NINETY THOUSAND AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($90,000.00);MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement for
cooperative purchasing with the City of Frisco; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to such agreement,the City may make purchases based upon the bids received by
the City of Frisco;and
WHEREAS,the City of Frisco has taken bids for police uniforms and body annor for the Police
Department;and
WHEREAS,the City of Baytown,in making a purchase under a cooperative purchasing agreement,
satisfies state law requiring municipalities to seek competitive bids for the purchase of the items; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby renews the Amiual Police Uni form
Contract with Galls, LLC, f/k/a Red the Unifonn Tailor,tlirough a cooperative purchasing agreement with the
City of Frisco, for the purchase of police uniforms and body annor,in an amount not to exceed NINETY
THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($90,000.00)and authorizes payment thereof.
Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated §252.048,
the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an
increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/I 00 DOLLARS ($50,000.00)or less,provided that the original
contract price of each item specified in Section 1 hereof may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent
(25%)or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25%)without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect inunediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
