A RESOLUTION OF THE TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT DECLARING
THE RESULTS OF THE CREATION AND TAX ELECTION OF THE
BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT; DECLARING
THE BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT
CREATED; MAKING FINDINGS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Texas Election Code, the Temporary Board of
Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District (the "Board "), at a meeting held on
the 22nd day of May, 2006, canvassed in accordance with all applicable laws the returns of the
election of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District (the "District ") held within the
territory of the District on the 13th day of May, 2006, for the purpose of creating the Baytown Crime
Control and Prevention District and authorizing a one - eighth of one percent sales and use tax (the
"Election "); and
WHEREAS, the Board has reviewed and investigated all matters pertaining to the Election,
including the ordering, notices, election officers, holding and returns thereof; and
WHEREAS, the result of the Board's canvass was that the total votes cast by resident,
qualified electors of the Territory of the District at the creation and tax election were as follows, to-
wit:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
The creation of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District dedicated to crime
reduction programs and the adoption of a proposed local sales and use tax at a rate of one-
eighth of one percent (118 %).
For 1,584 votes
Against 651 votes; and
WHEREAS, the Board finds the election returns set out above to be accurate and correct and no
election protest or contest have been filed with the Board or instituted in connection with said election
returns; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN
CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT:
Section 1: That the Temporary Board of Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention
District hereby finds that the above - referenced recitals are true and correct.
Section 2: That the Temporary Board of Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention
District further finds that the notice of the election was duly and properly given as required by law and as
provided in the resolution calling the election and that the election was duly and regularly held and the returns

thereof duly and regularly made and canvassed by the proper officials of said Election and in all things
according to law.
Section 3: That the Temporary Board of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District, based
upon the results of the canvass of the creation and tax election conducted by the Board, declares that a
majority of the votes cast at the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District's creation and tax election
were in favor of creating the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District and authorizing a one - eighth of
one percent sales and use tax for the purpose of financing the District.
Section 4: That based upon the declaration made in Section 3 hereof, the Temporary Board of the
Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District, declares the following:
I. the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District is created; and
2. the one - eighth of one percent sales and use tax is hereby authorized to be adopted by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the Temporary
Board of Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the Temporary Board of Directors of
the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District, this the 22 "d day of May, 2006.
