A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME
1 CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT ISSUING AN ORDER CERTIFYING TO
THE SECRETARY OF STATE THAT NO RESPONSIBILITIES CONCERNING THE
DISSOLUTION OF THE DISTRICT ARE LEFT UNSATISFIED; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on February 2, 2002, the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District (the
"District") held a special election regarding the continuation of the District and the associated sales tax;
and
WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast at the such election were not in favor of continuing the
District for 10 years nor continuing the Crime Control and Prevention District sales tax for 10 years; and
WHEREAS, due to the results of the election, the District was dissolved pursuant to the Crime
Control and Prevention District Act(the"Act")on August 2, 2002; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, the Board of Directors of the District is required to issue an
order certifying to the Secretary of State that no responsibilities of the Act are left unsatisfied: and
WHEREAS, specifically, the order herein issued confirms that the District has conveyed and/or
transferred the following to the City:
(1) title to land,buildings,real and tangible improvements, and equipment owned by the District;
(2) operating funds and reserves for operating expenses and funds that have been budgeted by the
District for the remainder of the fiscal year in which the District is dissolved to support crime
control activities and programs for residents of the City of Baytown;
(3) taxes levied by the District during the current year for crime control purposes;
(4) funds established for payment of indebtedness assumed by the District; and
(5) any accumulated employee retirement funds; and
WHEREAS, the order additionally confirms that the District has adopted a resolution certifying
each outstanding short-term and long-term liability;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME
CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT:
Section 1: That the Board of Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention
District hereby issues an order certifying to the Secretary of State that no responsibilities concerning the
dissolution of the District are left unsatisfied. Namely, the Board confirms that the District has conveyed
and/or transferred the following to the City:
(1) title to land,buildings,real and tangible improvements,and equipment owned by the District;
(2) operating funds and reserves for operating expenses and funds that have been budgeted by the
District for the remainder of the fiscal year in which the District is dissolved to support crime
control activities and programs for residents of the City of Baytown;
(3) taxes levied by the District during the current year for crime control purposes;
(4) funds established for payment of indebtedness assumed by the District; and
(5) any accumulated employee retirement funds;
and that the District has adopted a resolution certifying each outstanding short-term and long-term
liability.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
Board of Directors of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District.
