A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CREATION OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME
CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN
CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT:
Section 1: A majority of the votes cast at the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District's
creation and tax election were in favor of creating the District; authorizing a one -half of one percent sales and
use tax for the purpose of financing the District; and appointing the membership of the City Council of the
City of Baytown as the Board of Directors of the District; therefore, the following is hereby declared by the
Temporary Board of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District:
1. the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District is created;
2. the one -half of one percent sales and use tax is hereby authorized to be adopted by the City
Council of the City of Baytown; and
3. the members of the City Council may hereinafter be appointed by the City Council to serve
as members of the Board of Directors of the District.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the Temporary
Board of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the Temporary Board of the Baytown
Crime Control and Prevention District, this the 22 "d day of January, 1998.
