2002 02 06 CCPD MinutesMINUTES OF THE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS February 6, 2002 A meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District Board of Baytown, Texas was held on February 6, 2002, at 8:00 a.m., in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall, 2401 Market Street, Baytown, Texas with the following in attendance: Ronnie Anderson Board Member Coleman Godwin Board Member Calvin Mundinger Board Member Don Murray Board Member Pete C. Alfaro Board President Monte Mercer General Manager Ignacio Ramirez, Sr. General Counsel Gary W. Smith Secretary Absent: Mercedes Renteria Board Member Scott Sheley Board Member The meeting was opened with a quorum present, after which the following business was conducted: Conduct the canvass of the election held on February 2, 2002. Pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code and the Texas Election Code requiring the Board to canvass the returns of the election no sooner than two days, nor more than six days, after the date of the election, the Board conducted the official canvass of the Crime Control and Prevention District Continuation election held on Saturday, February, 2002. The results were as follows: Proposition 1 Whether the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District should be continued and the crime control and prevention district sales and use tax should be continued for ten years. For 578 Against 712 Consider Proposed Resolution No. 020206 -1, canvassing the returns of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District Continuation Election held on February 2, 2002. Proposed Resolution No. 020206 -1 canvasses the returns of the continuation election held on February 2, 2002. The Local Government Code and Election Page 2 of 2 Minutes of Meeting — February 6, 2002 Code require the Board to canvass the returns of an election no sooner than two days, nor more than six days after the date of the election. Board Member Murray moved approval the proposed resolution. Board Member Godwin seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Board Members Murray President Alfaro Nays: None The motion carried. Anderson, Godwin, Mundinger, and RESOLUTION NO. 26 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT HELD WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE DISTRICT ON THE 2ND DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2002; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SAID ELECTION; FINDING THAT NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION WAS PROPERLY HELD AND THE RETURNS THEREOF MADE BY THE PROPER OFFICIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. Adjourn. There being no further business, Board Member Mundinger moved to adjourn the meeting. Board Member Murray seconded the motion.
