1998 01 22 CCPD MinutesTEMPORARY MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS January 22, 1998 The Board of the Temporary Crime Control and Prevention District of Baytown, Texas, met on January 22, 1998, at 5:30 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Baytown City Hall, 2123 Market, Baytown, Texas, with the following in attendance: Victor Almendarez David Byford Manuel Escontrias E. Frank Hinds, Jr. Stephen DonCarlos Scott Sheley* Pete C. Alfaro Board Member Board Member Board Member Board Member Board Member Board Member Chairman The meeting was opened with a quorum present, and the following business was conducted: Consider Approval of the Minutes for the Meeting Held on November 13, 1997 Board Member Escontrias moved to approve the minutes. Board Member DonCarlos seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Board Members Byford, Escontrias, Hinds, DonCarlos, and Almendarez Chairman Alfaro Nays: None 980122 -2 Temporary Board Crime Control and Prevention District Consider Approval of the Minutes for the Meeting Held on November 18, 1997 Board Member Hinds moved to approve the minutes. Board Member Escontrias seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Board Members Byford, Escontrias, Hinds, DonCarlos, and Almendarez Chairman Alfaro Nays: None *Council Member Sheley present. Consider Proposed Resolution No. 4 Canvassing the Returns of the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District Board Member Almendarez moved to adopt the resolution. Board Member Hinds seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Board Members Byford, Escontrias, Hinds, DonCarlos, Almendarez, and Sheley Chairman Alfaro Nays: None RESOLUTION NO.4 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE CREATION AND TAX ELECTION OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT HELD WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE DISTRICT ON THE SEVENTEENTH DAY OF JANUARY 1998; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SAID ELECTION; FINDING THAT NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION WAS PROPERLY HELD AND THE RETURNS THEREOF MADE BY THE PROPER OFFICIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. 980122 -3 Temporary Board Crime Control and Prevention District Consider Proposed Resolution No. 5 Issuing an Order Declaring the Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District Created Council Member Hinds moved to adopt the resolution. Council Member Escontrias seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Board Members Byford, Escontrias, Hinds, DonCarlos, Almendarez, and Sheley Chairman Alfaro Nays: None RESOLUTION NO.5 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CREATION OF THE BAYTOWN CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
