June 1, 2004
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in work session on June 1, 2004, at 11:30 a.m.
at the Goose Creek Country Club, 5000 Country Club Drive, Baytown, Texas, with the following in
attendance:

Absent was: Ronnie Anderson Council Member
The meeting was opened with a quorum present after which the following business was conducted:
Mayor Calvin Mundinger addressed the Baytown Chamber of Commerce to describe his
ideas, goals and priorities for the City of Baytown.
Mayor Mundinger explained that through his plan, the "New Attitude for Baytown," he hopes to
encourage more public involvement, i.e., civic associations, in the political process. He said that in
the near future, Council will discuss changes to its Rules of Procedure, sewer capacity issues,
neighborhood traffic and control, the upcoming budget, the building and development permit
process, tax relief for senior citizens, whether a Convention Center is a want or a need, the street tax
recently approved by voters, possible uses for the remaining 'I/ of one percent sales tax still
available, televising Council meetings, revitalization, the Master Plan and Public Improvement
Zones, beautification of the City, and improving the City's relationships at both the County and
State levels.
Mayor Mundinger informed those present that he ran for Mayor in order to help heal divisions
within the City. He concluded his address with the statement that Baytown is poised for great
achievements.
