OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
August 13, 2001
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on August 13,
2001, at 7:40 a.m. in the Hullum Conference Room of the Baytown City Hall with the
following in attendance:
Ronnie Anderson
Council Member
Calvin Mundinger
Council Member
Coleman Godwin
Council Member
Don Murray Mayor Pro Tern
Monte Mercer City Manager
Ignacio Ramirez, Sr. City Attorney
Gary W. Smith City Clerk
Absent was: Pete C. Alfaro Mayor
Mercedes Renteria III Council Member
Scott Sheley Council Member
The meeting was opened with a quorum present after which the following business was
conducted:
Consider Proposed Ordinance No. 010813 -1, setting the time, place and date of the
public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2001 -2002 municipal budget.
Proposed Ordinance No. 010913 -1 calls the public hearing on the proposed 2001 -2002
municipal budget to be held on August 23, 2001, at 6:55 p.m. during the regular Council
meeting scheduled for that day. Texas Local Government Code, Section 102.006 and
Section 43 of the Charter, City of Baytown, require the Council to determine the time,
date and place of the public hearing on the budget. The public hearing may not be held
prior to the fifteenth day after the proposed budget is filed with the City Clerk and must
be held prior to the date that Council makes its tax levy. By scheduling the hearing on
August 23, these conditions are met. Notice of the public hearing must be given by
publication in the Baytown Sun at least seven days prior to the date of the hearing. Notice
of the hearing will be published on Wednesday, August 15, 2001.
Council Member Anderson moved the approval of the ordinance. Council Member
Mundinger seconded the motion. The vote follows:

Nays: None.
The motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 9206
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE
PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2001 -2002 MUNICIPAL BUDGET; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
Adjourn.
Council Member Godwin moved to adjourn the meeting. Council Member Mundinger
seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Council Members Anderson, Godwin, and Mundinger
Mayor Pro Tern Murray
Nays: None.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:42 a.m.
