1999 08 30 CC Minutes, SpecialMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN August 30, 1999 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on August 30, 1999, at 7:30 a.m., in the Don M. Hullum Conference Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following in attendance: Victor Almendarez Council Member Calvin Mundinger Council Member E. Frank Hinds, Jr. Council Member Coleman Godwin Council Member Scott Sheley Council Member Pete C. Alfaro Mayor Monte Mercer City Manager Ignacio Ramirez City Attorney Eileen P. Hall City Clerk Absent: David Byford Council Member The meeting was opened with a quorum present after which the following business was conducted: Consider Proposed Resolution No. 990830 -1, Authorizing the City Manager to Apply for a Grant from the United States Department of Justice from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program The proposed resolution authorizes the City Manager to apply for a grant from the United States Department of Justice in the amount of $96,754. Council Member Hinds moved to adopt the resolution. Council Member Almendarez seconded the motion. The vote follows: 990830 -2 Minutes of the Special Session — August 30, 1999 Ayes: Council Members Almendarez, Mundinger, Hinds, Godwin, and Sheley Mayor Alfaro Nays: None RESOLUTION NO. 1400 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR A GRANT FROM THE 1999 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY -SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($96,754.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
