August 30, 1999
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on
August 30, 1999, at 7:30 a.m., in the Don M. Hullum Conference Room of the
Baytown City Hall with the following in attendance:

Council Member

Absent: David Byford Council Member
The meeting was opened with a quorum present after which the following
business was conducted:
Consider Proposed Resolution No. 990830 -1, Authorizing the City Manager
to Apply for a Grant from the United States Department of Justice from the
Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program
The proposed resolution authorizes the City Manager to apply for a grant
from the United States Department of Justice in the amount of $96,754. Council
Member Hinds moved to adopt the resolution. Council Member Almendarez
seconded the motion. The vote follows:

RESOLUTION NO. 1400
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
MAKE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT
OF JUSTICE FOR A GRANT FROM THE 1999 LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT
OF NINETY -SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY -FOUR
AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($96,754.00); DESIGNATING AN
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT
AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
