1998 08 11 CC Minutes, Emergency0 MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN August 11, 1998 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in regular session on August 11, 1998, at 7:00 a.m., in the Don M. Hullum Conference Room, City Hall, 2401 Market Street, with the following in attendance: Victor Almendarez Council Member Manuel Escontrias Council Member E. Frank Hinds, Jr. Council Member Scott Sheley Council Member Coleman Godwin Council Member Pete C. Alfaro Mayor Bobby Rountree City Manager Ignacio Ramirez City Attorney Eileen P. Hall City Clerk Absent: David Byford Council Member The meeting was opened with a quorum present, after which the following business was conducted: Consider Proposed Ordinance No. 980811 -1, Declaring an Emergency Situation and Awarding a Demolition Contract for the Removal of the Structure at 3517 Market Street Council Member Hinds moved to adopt the ordinance. Council Member Escontrias seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Council Members Almendarez, Escontrias Hinds, Godwin, and Sheley Mayor Alfaro Nays: None 980811 -2 Minutes of Emergency Session — August 11, 1998 ORDINANCE NO. 8358 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST TO A DEMOLITION CONTRACT FOR THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 3517 MARKET STREET, BAYTOWN, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, WITH ALL TEXAS DEMOLISHING, INC., FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY -ONE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($15,831.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
