1992 06 16 CC Minutes, SpecialMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN June 16, 1992 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 2401 Market Street, with the following in "} attendance: Don M. Hullum Ray Swofford Pete C. Alfaro Stephen DonCarlos Rolland J. Pruett Bobby J. Credille Bobby Rountree Norman Dykes Eileen P. Hall Absent: Eva Benavides Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member Mayor City Manager Asst. City Manager City Clerk Council Member The meeting was called to order with a quorum present, and the following business was conducted: Consider Proposed Ordinance, Awarding Bid on Sole Source, Emergency Basis for Purchase of Modems for JIMS System Due to the recent storms in the area, the two modems connecting Municipal Court to the Justice Information Management System (DIMS) have failed and must be replaced. In order to maintain the integrity of the system, this is a sole source purchase from Teleglobe. The quote includes one year maintenance. The reason that this matter is an emergency is that JIMS is the county -wide system for warrants and with the Baytown Municipal Court System down, there is the possibility of false arrest. The administration recommended approval of the ordinance on an emergency basis. 920616 -2 Minutes of the Special Session - June 16, 1992 Council member Swofford moved for adoption of the ordinance; Council member Hullum seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Council members Hullum, Swofford, Alfaro, DonCarlos and Pruett Mayor Credille Nays: None Ordinance No. 6268 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY -NINE AND N01100 ($4,989.00) DOLLARS TO TE LEGLOBE COMMUNICATIONS, INC. AS THE SOLE SOURCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF MODEMS FOR THE JIMS SYSTEM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. Adjourn There being no further business to be transacted, the meeting was adjourned.
