The meeting was called to order with a quorum present, and
the following business was conducted:
Consider Proposed Ordinance, Awarding Bid on Sole Source,
Emergency Basis for Purchase of Modems for JIMS System
Due to the recent storms in the area, the two modems
connecting Municipal Court to the Justice Information Management
System (DIMS) have failed and must be replaced. In order to
maintain the integrity of the system, this is a sole source
purchase from Teleglobe. The quote includes one year
maintenance.
The reason that this matter is an emergency is that JIMS is
the county -wide system for warrants and with the Baytown
Municipal Court System down, there is the possibility of false
arrest. The administration recommended approval of the ordinance
on an emergency basis.
