1989 05 01 CC Minutes, EmergencyMinutes of the Emergency Meeting Of the City Council of the City of Baytown May 1, 1989 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in emergency session on Monday, May 1, 1989, at 8 :40 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following attendance: Fred T. Philips Perry Simmons Fete C. Alfaro Roy Fuller Rolland J. Pruett Emmett O. Hutto Hobby Rountree Eileen P. Hall Absent: Jimmy Johnson Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor Acting City Manager City Clerk Councilman The meeting was called to order with a quorum present after which the -following business was conducted. Consider Proposed Ordinance, Awarding bid, On Emergency basis, for Replacement of Two Carrier Air Conditioning Compressors at City Hall. Two Carrier air compressors at City Hall have stopped functioning. The administration is concerned that the remaining two compressors will also cease functioning due to the added strain. Four bids were received as follows: Cox Air Conditioning $ 9,875.04 Young Plumbing, Heating and 11,306.25 Air Conditioning P u M Air Conditioning 14,750.04 Dan's Air Conditioning and Plumbing 1:3,385.64 Cox Air Conditioning was the low bidder for the amount of $9,875. The administration recommended award of the bid to the low bidder. Councilman Pruett moved for the adoption of the ordinance. Councilman Alfaro seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Council members Philips, Simmons, Alfaro, Fuller and Pruett Mayor Hutto Nays: None Ordinance No. 5264 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY -FIVE AND NO/100 ($9,875.00) DOLLARS TO COX AIR CONDITIONING FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF TWO CARRIER AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSORS AT CITY HALL; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
