The meeting was called to order with a quorum present, after
which the following business was conducted:
Consider Proposed Ordinance, Awarding Bid for Emergency Repair of
City Hall Annex Air Conditioner
It has become necessary to replace the compressor for the
City Hall Annex air conditioner. The compressor is under
warranty and Carrier has agreed to replace the compressor with
either a rebuilt compressor or a new one. However, Carrier is
insisting that the City of Baytown install a J. Tube Accumulator.
An 85 ton unit serves both portions of the building. This is too
large a unit. The vapor accumulator will allow the compressor to
throttle down, conserving energy and the compressor.
The administration recommended awarding the bid to the low
bidder, Cox Air Conditioning, for the amount of $4,600.
