1987 12 14 CC Minutes, SpecialMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN December 14, 1987 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Monday, December 14, 1987, at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall with the following attendance: Ron Embry Roy Fuller Rolland J. Pruett Emmett 0. Hutto Fritz Lanham Bobby Rountree Randy Strong Eileen P. Hall Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Assistant City Manager City Attorney City Clerk Absent: Jimmy Johnson Councilman Fred T. Philips Councilman Perry M. Simmons Councilman Mayor Hutto called the special meeting to order with a quorum present; after which the following business was transacted: Consider Ordinance Approving Purchase of Property in the Vicinity of West Main Sewer Treatment Plant Council considered an ordinance which would authorize the City Attorney to make offers for and on behalf of the City of Baytown to purchase property in the vicinity of West Main Sewer Treatment Plant for street and bridge improvement purposes. The attorney would be authorized to offer $15,000 for the tract of land. The administration recommended approval of the ordinance. Councilman Fuller moved for adoption of the ordinance; Councilman Pruett seconded the motion. The vote follows: 71214 -2 Minutes of the Special Meeting - December 14, 1987 Ayes: Council members Embry, Fuller and Pruett Mayor Hutto Nays: None Ordinance No. 4891 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO MAKE OFFERS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TO THE OWNERS OR OTHER PARTIES IN INTEREST FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN TRACTS DESCRIBED HEREIN REQUIRED FOR STREET AND BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT PURPOSES; REQUIRING THAT SUCH OFFERS BE ACCEPTED WITHIN FIFTEEN (15) DAYS; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS IN THE EVENT SUCH OFFERS ARE REFUSED; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
