1986 02 07 CC Minutes, Special60207-1 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN February 7, 1986 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Friday, February 7, 1986, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall with the following attendance: Fred T. Philips Jimmy Johnson Perry M. Simmons Ron Embry Roy Fuller Gerald Dickens Emmett 0. Hutto Fritz Lanham Larry Patterson Randy Strong Eileen P. Hall Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Assistant City Manager City Attorney City Clerk The meeting was called to order with a quorum present. Mayor Hutto recessed the open meeting into executive session to discuss pending litigation. When the open meeting recon- vened, the following business was transacted: Consider Ratification of the City Attorney's Response to the Verdict in the City of Baytown vs John and Michael Floyd Case Councilman Embry moved that City Council ratify the city attorney's response to the verdict in the City of Baytown vs John and Michael Floyd case, to wit that the City of Baytown withdraws its condemnation proceedings in that case; Council- man Fuller seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Council members Philips, Johnson, Simmons, Embry, Fuller and Dickens Mayor Hutto Nays: None Stony McAlister, 3902 Tompkins, Appeared Stony McAlister, 3902 Tompkins, appeared to relate to council an incident which occurred early Friday morning-- 3:30 a.m. in Mr. McAlister's neighborhood. He felt that the fact that neither a wrecker nor a police vehicle in the neighborhood at that time had had their lights on flashing had caused a series of events which could have resulted in injury to himself, the officer and/or the wrecker driver.
