OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
June 7, 1984
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met
in special session on Thursday, June 7, 1984, at 6:30 p.m.
in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall with the
following attendance:

The meeting was called to order with a quorum present, and
the following business was transacted:
Administer Oath of Office to Newly Appointed Council Member
Judge Neel Richardson administered the Oath of Office
to Ronald G. Embry, newly appointed Councilman from District
No. 6. Councilman Embry took his place at the Council table.
Consider Proposed Resolution No. 879, Authorizing the City
Manager to Apply to the Houston- Harris County Area Agency
on Aging for Renewal of the Grant for the Senior Citizen
Taxi Program
Adoption of the proposed resolution will authorize the
Administration to apply for grant funds to continue operation
of the Senior Citizen Taxi Program. The grant application
must be in Houston by June 15. The grant will fund 5$7o of
the program, making the city's share 420. The Administration
recommended approval of the resolution.
Councilman Fuller moved for adoption of the resolution;
Councilman Philips seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Council members Philips, Johnson, Fuller and Dickens

RESOLUTION NO. 879
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE HOUSTON- HARRIS
COUNTY AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY AND
N01100 ($25,230.00) DOLLARS FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
SENIOR CITIZENS' TAXICAB PROGRAM
Adjourn
There being no further business to be transacted, the
meeting was adjourned to a work session to discuss the
capital improvements program.
