1981 10 14 CC Minutes, Emergency11014 -1 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN October 14, 1981 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special emergency session on Wednesday, October 14, 1981, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall with the following attendance: Fred T. Philips Jimmy Johnson Roy Fuller . Emmett 0. Hutto Fritz Lanham Larry Patterson Randy Strong Eileen P. Hall Absent: Perry Simmons Allen Cannon Mary E. Wilbanks Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Assistant City Manager City Attorney City Clerk Councilman Councilman Councilwoman The meeting was called to order with a quorum present and the following business was transacted: Consider Proposed Resolution No. 791, Making Nomination for the Office of Director of Harris County Appraisal District Board for Term Beginning January 1, 1982 Mr. Lanham explained that the reason for the emergency session was that it is necessary for the city to file its nomination for director of Harris County Appraisal District Board prior to October 15. The Administration received that notification on October 13 due to mail service. After the cities file their nominees, the county clerk will notify the cities of persons who have been nominated in order that the cities may elect their representative on the Board. By law this process must be completed and the county clerk notified of each city's selection prior to November 15. Terms of office are for two year periods and said terms are not staggered. Councilman Philips moved to adopt the resolution, nominating Fred Hartman for the office of Director, Harris County Appraisal District, for the term beginning January 1, 1982. Councilman Johnson seconded the motion.
