MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
March 29, 1977
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met
in special session, Tuesday, March 29, 1977, at 7:15 p.m.
in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall. The fol-
lowing members were in attendance:
Jody Lander Mayor Pro Tem
Ted Kloesel Councilman
Mary E. Wilbanks Councilwoman
Emmett 0. Hutto Councilman
Dan Savage Assistant City Manager
Neel Richardson City Attorney
Eileen P. Hall City Clerk
Absent: Tom Gentry Mayor
Allen Cannon Councilman
Jack Kimmons Councilman
Fritz Lanham City Manager
Mayor Pro Tem Lander called the meeting to order and
explained that this special meeting had been called in order
that Ordinance No. 2165, which calls the municipal election,
could be amended. In this ordinance, the Mayor, Mayor Pro
Tem and City Clerk are designated to canvass the voting
machine used in absentee voting by personal appearance at
City Hall. Since the Mayor Pro Tem will be out of town on
the date of the election, Councilman Kloesel has agreed to
serve as the member of City Council to canvass the voting
machine which is reflected in the amendment to the ordinance.
Councilman Hutto moved to adopt the ordinance;
Councilwoman Wilbanks seconded the motion. The vote
follows:
Ayes: Council members Kloesel, Wilbanks and Hutto
Mayor Pro Tem Lander
Nays: None
ORDINANCE NO. 2201
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2165 BY
REPEALING SECTION 12 THEREOF AS PRESENTLY CON-
STITUTED, AND BY ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 12
DESIGNATING A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO
CANVASS THE VOTING MACHINE USED IN ABSENTEE
VOTING BY PERSONAL APPEARANCE AT CITY HALL.
There being no further business to transact, Council-
man Kloesel moved to adjourn; Councilman Hutto seconded the
motion. The vote was unanimous to adjourn.
