1975 04 18 CC Minutes, Emergency5803 ..J� MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN April 18, 1975 The City Council of the City of Baytown met in emergency session, Friday, April 18, 1975, at 1:15 P. M. in the Council Chamber of the Baytown CityHall. The following members attended. Jody Lander Mary E. Wilbanks Henry Dittman Tom Walmaley Fritz Lanham Neel Richardson Howard Northcutt Absent: Tom Gentry Fred Bednarski, Jr. Charles Pool Edna Oliver Mayor Pro Tem Councilwoman Councilman Councilman City Manager City Attorney Assistant City Manager Mayor Councilman Councilman City Clerk Mayor Pro Tem called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted. Emergency Repair - Sewer Line on Garth Road Proposed Ordinance No. 50418 -1 will:authorize the emergency repair of approximately 1558 linear feet of 18 -inch sewer line on Garth Road. This line is in the vicinity of where the contractor is presently working on Garth Road resurfacing. Mr. Doug Lunceford explained the contractor has not yet poured over this section, and recommended authroizing the slip lining to begin immediately so as not to delay the contractor any longer than necessary. The slip lining would should be completed in eight days. The firm of Rehab Specialists, Inc., will provide the material, two trucks and three men for a sum of $31,000; city crews will assist in the work. -- Councilman Dittman moved to declare that an emergency situation exists, and to authorize the repair of 1558 linear feet of sewer line on Garth Road, as recommended. Councilman Walmsley seconded the motion: Ayes: Council members Wilbanks, Dittman and Walmsley Mayor Pro Tem Lander Nays: None ORDINANCE NO. 1787 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST TO A CONTRACT WITH REHAB SPECIALISTS, INC., FOR THE EMERGENCY REPAIR OF APPROXIMATELY 1558 LINEAR FEET OF SANITARY SEWER LINE ON GARTH ROAD ON A UNIT PRICE BASIS AND THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR SAID EMERGENCY REPAIR WITH THE COMPENSATION THEREFOR NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY -ONE THOUSAND AND NO /100 ($31,000.00) DOLLARS AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Appropriate Funds - Garth Road Sewer Slip Lining Proposed Ordinance No. 50418 -2 will appropriate $31,000 from 1970 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Bond Funds for this project. Councilwoman Wilbanks moved to adopt the ordinance. Councilman Dittman seconded the motion: Ayes: Council members Wilbanks, Dittman and Walmsley Mayor Pro Tem Lander Nays: None ORDINANCE NO. 1788 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOM;TO APPROPRIATE THIRTY -ONE THOUSAND AND NO /100 ($31,000.00) DOLLARS FROM 1970 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND, TO ACCOUNT NO. 10 -15 -650 FOR THE EMERGENCY REPAIR OF APPROXIMATELY 1558 LINEAR FEET OF SANITARY SEWER LINE ON GARTH ROAD AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. With no further business to transact, Councilman Dittman moved to adjourn; Councilman Walmsley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
