1971 08 31 CC Minutes, Special5070 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAYTOWN August 31, 1971 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Tuesday, August 31, 1971 at 6:30 p.m., in the council Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance: Ted Kloesel Councilman C. O. Walker Councilman Jody Lander Councilman Leonard Stasney Councilman Jim McWilliams Councilman C. Glen Walker Mayor D. R. Voelkel City Manager Howard Northcutt Adm. Assistant Neel Richardson City Attorney Following a partial review of the 1971 -72 proposed budget, the following business was transacted: Resume Discussion - Sanitary Sewer Emergency Problem Jack Morton, Director of Public Works, gave a report on the estimates received to repair the collapsed sanitary sewer line in Creekwood Addition. The project had been walked -out by contractors and the confided area is not conducive to receiving favorable estimates. The only alternative would be considering slip - lining the same section of pupe add he was not sure of the warranty or protection the city would have in this approach to the emergency. He has not had an opportunity to study written material. Considering the confided working area and maintaining flow in the pipe conditions the bid quotations. Following some further disucssion, Councilman Walker moved to postpone action on the project until September 2, 1971. Councilman Kloesel seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Walker, Stasney, Lander Mayor Walker Nays: Councilman McWilliams(wanted to go on record of favoring the slipliner pipe and not waiting two additional days for more information) Adjourn There being no further business to come before the Council the motion was made and seconded the meeting adjourn.
