MINUTES OF A SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAYTOWN
August 30, 1971
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Monday,
August 30, 1971 at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall with the
following members in attendance:

'Following a partial review of the 1971 -72 proposed budget, the following business
was transacted:
Emergency Condition - Sanitary Sewer Trunk Line - Creekwood Area
Jack Morton, Director of Public Works, reported on a cave -in on a concrete pipe
sanitary sewer line in the area of Creekwood Subdivision. He reviewed the magnitu
of the project with three openings in a 18 -inch line and two in an 8 -inch line.
He has received an estimate from the Company to repair the lines with a flexible
slip lining, plus making necessary taps to service homes presently on the line, of
$20,264.50 plus $50 each for the eight taps. Following some discussion Councilman
Stasney moved to proceed with replacement of the sewer line with a parallel line,
preferably of flexstran, and do so on an emergency basis. Councilman Lander
seconded the motion. Councilman Kloesel stated that he wanted estimates with
clay pipe and moved to table action on the project until the next evening. Councilman
Walker seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Walker, Lander, Stasney, Cannon and McWilliams

Adjourn
There being no further business to come before the Council, the motion was made
and seconded that the meeting adjourn. The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor declared
the meeting adjourn ed.
