MINUTES OF A SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAYTOWN
April 26, 1971
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in a special
emergency meeting on Monday, April 26, 1971 at 5:00 p.m., in the Council
Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance:

The Mayor called the meeting to order and stated that the emergency
meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing bids for a prefabricated
sewage treatment plant to be installed at the Craigmont plant. He then
asked Jack Morton, Director of Public Works, to open bids.

Completion of plant is 18 weeks from date of receipt of approved drawings.
In trying to assemble the information outlined in the bids, Mr. Morton
stated that more time would be needed to properly evaluate the bids. It was
suggested that the meeting be recessed and reconvened for final disposition
of the bids at 5:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, April 27th. Because of the emergency
nature of the bid taking, the Council was in agreement to give-Mr. Morton
more time to analize the bids, and would reconvene the following afternoon
for a report from Mr. Morton and final disposition upon the bids received.

Consider Ordinance - Calling Public Hearing Annexation Whispering Pines Subdivision
The Council discussed the adoption of an ordinance calling a public
hearing upon the proposed annexation of Whispering Pines Subdivision which
has been requested by the subdivider, Dan Savell. Also, the possible inclusion
of the two tracts of park property immediately west of Raccoon Drive from the
subdivision site making a total of approximately 100 acres in the proposed
annexation. Following some discussion, Councilman Kloesel moved to adopt an
ordinance setting the date of May 13, 1971, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., for a public
hearing upon the annexation of the proposed annexation of Whispering Pines
Subdivision and the two parksites. Councilman Hullum seconded the motion.
The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Evans, Hull=, Stasney and Cannon

BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

Councilman Kloesel moved to recess the meeting until 5:00 o'clock p.m.,
Tuesday, April 27th. Councilman Stasney seconded the motion. The vote follows:
