The City Attorney reviewed with the City Council his discussions with Mr. A. M. Howell concerning the possible option by the City of a certain tract owned by him adjacent to Ridgewood Subdivision. The City Attorney indicated that Mr. Howell's tract had been listed at 10 acres, but an accurate survey would pro- bably reveal only 8 and a fraction usable acres. Council- man Cannon stated that he did not believe the City should offer to pay more than $5,500.00 per surveyed acre. Councilman Cannon therefor moved that the City offer Mr. Howell $5,500.00 per surveyed acre, or a maximum of the original $50,000.00, whichever sum shall be the lesser of the two.
