MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
April 4, 1969
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on
Friday, April 4, 1969 at 3:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber with the following
members in attendance:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Hullum, the Invocation wa:
offered and the following business was transacted:
Resolution - Applying Flood Insurance under National Flood Insurance Act- 196E
Members of the City Council met with Keith Ozmore of Congressman Bob Eck -
hardt's staff concerning flood insurance for areas in Brownwood and Lakewood
areas which are identified as flood prone areas. The Council reviewed a map
which was submitted by Director of Civil Defense, Fletcher Hickerson, and ide+
tified the areas as all of Brownwood and Blocks 60 & 61, Section G., Lakewood
Addition. Councilman Kloesel moved to adopt a Resolution directing the City
Manager of Baytown to make formal application to have all of Brownwood Addi-
tion and Blocks 60 & 61, Section G., Lakewood Addition placed on the premium
risk rate register for flood insurance under Title XIII of the Housing and
Urban Development Act of 1968. Councilman Walker seconded the motion. The
vote follows:
AYES: Councilmen Kloesel, Walker and Kelley
Mayor Pro Tem Hullum
NAYS: None

A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXA5, FORMALLY AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE FORMAL
APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL INSURANCE ADMINIS-
TRATOR TO PLACE FLOOD -PRONE AREAS WITHIN THE
CITY ON THE RISK PREMIUM RATE REGISTER SO THAT
SUCH AREAS MAY QUALIFY FOR FLOOD INSURANCE UNDER
THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE ACT OF 1968.
Adjourn
There being no further business to come before the Council, the motion was
made and seconded that the meeting adjourn. The ayes were unanimous and
the Mayor Pro Tem declared the meeting adjourned.
