MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
March 19, 1969
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on
Wednesday, March 19, 1969, at Holiday Inn with the following members in attendance:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Carvey and the following business was
transacted:
Job Fair Program
Councilman Fanestiel suggested that Mayor Cravey initiate the Summer Job Fair
Program before the election as he should continue working with the program because
of his background as a teacher and counselor in the schools. He concluded his re-
marks with a motion that Mayor Cravey be authorized to initiate the Summer Job Fair
Program so that it will be ready to start June 1, 1969. Councilman Hullum seconded
the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Hullum, Walker, Braswell, and Fanestiel

Nays: None
Transfer of Funds Approved
City Manager Fritz Lanham requested a transfer of $1,040.00 from the Water
and Sewer Department Contingency Fund to account 1001 -1 -1 for the hiring of summer
employees to keep the grass cut around the sewage treatment plants and water plants.
The grass cutting procedure will help meet the requirements of the State Health
Department. Councilman Braswell moved to approve the request and authorized the
transfer of funds. Councilman Fanestiel seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Walker, Hullum, Braswell, and Fanestiel

APPOINTMENT - Acting City Manager J. B. LeFevre
Councilman Kloesel moved to appoint J. B. LeFevre as Acting City Manager of
the City of Baytown during the interim period of the selection of a new city
manager. Councilman Hullum seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Kloesel, Walker, Hullum, Braswell, and Fanestiel
Mayor Cravey
Nays: None
Adjourn
There being no further business to come before the Council, the motion was
made and seconded that the meeting adjourn. The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor
declared the meeting adjourned.
