MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS
February 17, 1969
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Monday,
February 17, 1969, at 12:00 noon, Holiday Inn with the following members present:

Members of Planning & Zoning Commission:

Proposed Zoning Ordinance - Joint Public Hearing
The Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Council discussed the proposed
Zoning Ordinance that has been prepared by the Planning & Zoning Commission. On motion
by Councilman Walker, seconded by Councilman Hullum, the City Council voted to approve
Ordinance No. 959 calling for a joint public hearing, before the Planning & Zoning
Commission and the City Council, to give interested persons an opportunity to be heard
concerning the question of zoning. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Walker, Hullum, Fanestiel, and Braswell
Mayor Cravey
Nays: None

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAY'lOWN FORMALLY
CALLING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE PLANNING AND ZONING
CO[MISSION AND THE CITY COUNCIL PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 1011£,
V.A.T.S., GIVING INTERESTED PARTIES AND OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD
CONSIDERING THE QUESTION OF ZONING; ORDERING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE OF THE SAID PUBLIC HEARING SO AS
TO GIVE AT LEAST FIFTEEN (15) DAYS' NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE
OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
The hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. March 10, 1969, in the City Council
Room, City Hall. The City Clerk will publish a notice of the public hearing in
the official newspaper of the City in order to give at least fifteen (15) days
notice of the time and place of the public hearing.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was
adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
