MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
July 31, 1968
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session at
6:30 a.m., July 31, 1968 at the Holiday Inn Restaurant with the following members
in attendance:
Don M. Hullum Councilman
Albert Fanestiel Councilman
Glen Walker Councilman
A. M. Braswell Mayor Pro Tem
Fritz Lanham City Manager
W. R. Laughlin City Attorney
Preston Pendergrass Baytown Sun
Baytown Auxiliary Police
The City Council discussed the status of the Baytown Auxiliary Police Depart-
ment in view of a recent State Attorney General's opinion. After a full discussion,
Councilman Walker moved to reaffirm Resolution No. 215 adopted July 11, 1968, and
direct the City Manager to instruct the Chief of Police to continue to utilize the
Auxiliary Police as in the past. Councilman Fanestiel seconded the motion. The
vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Hullum, Walker and Fanestiel
Mayor Pro Tem Braswell
Nays: None
Agreement - Beach City Annexation
The City Attorney presented a proposed agreement between the City of Baytown
and the City of Beach City regarding the extra- territorial jurisdiction of the two
cities. Councilman Fanestiel moved to approve this agreement. Councilman Walker
seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Hullum, Walker and Fanestiel
Mayor Pro Tem Braswell
Nays: None
Adjournment
Thre being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 a.m.
