MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS
March 4, 1968
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Tuesday,
March 4, 1968, at 5 :00 p.m., in the City Hall Conference Room, with the following mem-
bers in attendance:
The City Council considered the Texas Highway Department plans for the extension
of Loop 201 from its intersection with West Main to Spur 330. These plans provide
for bridges over West Main Street and the two railroads with preliminary grading of
the right of way. Councilman Ball moved to approve the plans as submitted by the
Texas Highway Department with the reservation that this action does not include ap-
proval of the design of the West Texas Avenue - Loop 201 intersection and the inter-
section of Loop 201 and Spur 330 as sketched on the title sheet. Councilman Walker
seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Ball, Braswell, Fanestiel and Walker
Mayor Cravey
Nays: None
ri Request - Houston Lighting & Power Company - Dredge Cooling Water Intake Canal
The City Council discussed the application of Houston Lighting & Power Company
to the Corps of Engineers for permission to dredge a cooling water intake canal and
a discharge canal. Inasmuch as the Council has not had sufficient time to study
this request, the City Manager was instructed to request the Corps of Engineers to
grant an extenson of time beyond the March 6 date for submitting comments on the
proposed project.

There being no further order of business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
