1967 07 12 CC Minutes, Specialr r r 4378 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MXETING OF THE .CITY COUNCIL OF RAYTOWN , July 12, 1967 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Wednesday, July 121 1967, at 5:00 p.m, in the Council-Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance: A. M. Braswell Albert Fanestiel Lamar Kelley Seaborn Cravey Fritz Lanhem Absent: Patrick Ball Glen Walker Don M. Hullum Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Councilman Councilman Councilman The Mayor called the meeting to order and the following was transacted: Discuss - Purchase of Right of Way - Garth Road The City Council discussed the purchase of right of way on Garth Road, between Park Street and Morrell. A total of fifteen feet additional right of way is needed on both sides of Garth Road at this point in order to widen the street. Councilman Fanestiel moved to authorize an offer to the property owners on the basis of the lower of the two appraisals that were made.. Councilman Kelley seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Braswell, Fanestiel and Kelley Mayor Cravey Nays: None Additional Right of-Way Davis Road - Negotiate T. W. Gunn The City Manager explained that as error had been made in the amount of right of way obtained from Mr. T. W. Gunn on the Davis Road project and that approximately 2,922.55 square feet of additional right of way must be purchased in order to proceed with this project. Councilman Braswell moved to authorize the right of -way negotiator to negotiate with Mr. Gunn for the purchase of this right of way up to a maximum of $1.50 per square foot which is the amount paid for the right of way already purchased from Mr. Gunn. Councilman Kelley seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Braswell, Fanestiel and Kelley Mayor Cravey Nays: None Approve - Purchase - Tim Lounges - Ladies Restrooms City Hall and Community Center Councilman Braswell moved to authorize the Purchasing Agent to purchase two lounges for the ladies restrooma in the City Hall and Community Center at an approximate cost of $135.00 each. Councilman Kelley seconded themotion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Braswell, Fanestiel and Kelley Mayor Cravey Nays: None Adj ourn There being no further business to be transacted, the motion was made and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
