1967 06 26 CC Minutes, Specialx+377 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL METING OF THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITYjOF BAYTOWN .L 1 June 26, 1967 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Monday, June 26, 1967 at 5 :00 o'clock p.m., with the following members in attendance: Patrick Ball Councilman Glen Walker Councilman Don M. Hullum Councilman Albert Fanestiel Councilman Lamar Kelley Councilman A. M. Braswell Mayor Pro Tem Fritz Lanham City Manager Edna Oliver City Clerk ABSENT: Seaborn Cravey Mayor George Chandler City Attorney The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Braswell, the Invocation was offered and the following business follows: Change Ordinance - East District Sanitary Sewer Job - Epoxy Lining (Main Stay) At the June 22nd meeting, final action was deferred on the approval of a change order in the East District Sanitary Sewer Contract, Job No. 151 -5, to permit details of a cooperative agreement to be worked out which would prove to be of benefit to the City of Baytown by using epoxy lined concrete pipe in lieu of the proposed vitrified clay pipe. Mr. C. M. Whithead, Jr., president of Whitelak, Inc., the successful bidder on the project submitted the following proposal: "There has been some discussion as to placing an epoxy lining in 3,178 L.F - 36" and 21198 L.F. - 30" concrete pipe. When Mr. Lanham and I first discussed same, we were offering to place the lining in 2,200 L.F. 36" concrete pipe, as a promotional offer. Since there has been quite a bit more added to the 2,200 L.F. - 36" pipe, we feel as though there should be an addedcost. "We propose the following: 31178 L.F. 36" concrete pipe - 9.4 SF /L.F. 29,873 S.F. @ •575/ S.F. $170176.98 2,198 L.F. 30" concrete pipe - 7.85 S.F. /L.F. 17,255 S.F. @ - •575/S.F. 9.921.6 $27:098.61 Less previous commitments - 2,200 L.F. - 36" concrete pipe - 9.4 S.F. /L.F. 20,680 S.F. @ .475/S.F. 82 .00 $17p275.61 After a lengthy discussion, Councilman Ball moved to approve the change order by using the Main Stay epoxy lining in the 36" and 30" concrete pipe as proposed. Councilman Walker seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Ball, Walker, Hullum, Fanestiel and Kelley Mayor Pro Tem Braswell Nays: None Adjournment There being no further order of business to come before the Council, the motion was made and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
