1967 04 14 CC Minutes, Special4326 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN April 14, 1967 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Friday, April 14, 1967, at 6:30 a.m. at the Holly Inn with the following members in attendance: Dun M. Hullum A. M. Braswell C. Glen Walker Lamar Kelley Albert Fanestiel Seaborn Cravey Fritz Lanham Norman Foote Wayne Gray Otis Graham Absent: Patrick Ball Interviews - Parks and Recreation Director Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Chairman of Parks and Recreation Board Vice Chairman of Parks and Recreation Board Right of Way Negotiator Councilman Mr. Lanham reported on interviews with applicants for the position of Director of Parks and Recreation in Baytown. He reported that he, Mr. Foote and Mr. Gray had interviewed six applicants and that their recommendation for the position is Mr. Kenneth N. Persenaire, AtMetic- Aquatic Supervisor with the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Mr. Lanham recommended that Mr. Persenaire be employed at a salary of $700.00 per month plus $75.00 per month car expense and moving expenses from Austin to Baytown. Councilman Braswell moved to approve this appointment. Councilman Fanestiel seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Hullum, Braswell, Walker, Kelley and Fanestiel Mayor Cravey Nays: None Right of Way - Davis- Martin Road Proiect Mr. Graham reported on the status of the right of way acquisitions on the Davis - Martin Road Project. Coucnilman Braswsell moved to authorize Mr. Graham to proceed as follows: Offer Mr. Bart Antle $5,500.00 for the right of way required and there would be no assessment for the street Improvements to be made on Davis- Martin Road; proceed with condemnation proceedings on the parcel of twelve which be- longs to Terri -Fume Corporation; make the best deal possible on the Morris, Gunter and Creel tracts. If Mr. Graham is unable to reach agreements he feels are equitable he will report back to the Council. Councilman Walker seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Hullum, Braswell, Walker, Kelley and Fanestiel Mayor Cravey Nays: None r Adiournment There being no further business to come before the Council, the motion was made and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
