MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
March 20, 1967
A special meeting of the Baytown City Council was held at the Holly Inn in
Baytown, Texas, on Monday. March 20, 1967, at six - thirty o'clock a.m., with the
following members present:

Councilman Braswell, Chairman of the Ambulance Study Committee, called atten-
tion to an article in the February, 1967, Readers' Digest regarding ambulance
service. The article poonted out that the police department in Louisville, Ken-
tucky, provides ambulance service for that city and that the service in Louisville
was the best in the nation. Councilman Fanestiel moved to authorize a study group
of three .people from the City of Baytown to go to Louisville, Kentucky, make a
study of their operations and report back to the Council. The three representatives
are: Councilman Donnelly, and City Manager Lanham, memb3s of the ambulance committee,
and a representative of the police department. Councilman Bullum seconded the motion.
The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Ball, Hullum, Braswell, Fanestiel and Donnelly
Mayor Cravey
Nays: Councilman Massey
The Council also appointed a study group to meet with Mr. Camp, of the Belfort
Ambulance service and discuss the possibility of his reducing rates for ambulance
service within the City of Baytown. Members of this study group are Councilmen
Donnelly and Fanestiel.
