1967 03 14 CC Minutes, Special9305 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN March 14, 1967 A speical meeting of the Baytown City Council was held at the Holly Inn in Baytown, Texas, on Thursday, March 19, 1967, at six - thirty o'clock a.m., with the fillowing members present: Don M. Hullum Councilman A. M. Braswell Councilman Albert Fanestiel Councilman Seaborn Cravey Mayor Fritz Lanham City Manager Jimmy Woods Houston Post Representative Mr. Otis Graham Realtor Riaht of Way - Davis Road Mr. Graham reported on the status of the Davis- Martin Road Project. He re- ported that the appraisal on parcel number ten, owned by B. W. Etheridge, did not include any payment for damages to the house. However, the new right of way line will be three and one half inches from the residence. In view of this the Council authorized the City Manager to ask the appraisers to reappraise this property. Bay Conference Mayor Cravey reported that he had received a letter from Congressman Bob Eckhardt inviting him to attend a Bay Conference in Washington, D. C. to discuss the problems in the Galveston and Trinity Bay complex. The Conference to be held on March 22, 1967. Mayor Cravey reported that he would be unable to attend the Conference. Councilman Braswell indicated that he would be able to attend and, on motion by Councilman Fanestiel, seconded by Councilman Hullum, the Council voted to authorize Mr. Braswell to represent Baytown at the Conference. Holiday - City Employees On motion by Councilman Braswell, seconded by Councilman Fanestiel, the Coun- cil voted to authorize the City employees to observe Good Friday as a holiday in lieu of San Jacinto Day. Mayor Cravey and Councilman Braswell reported that they would be. unable to attend the next regular Council meeting shceduled for March 23, 1967. In view of this, the Council decided that the next regular meeting would be on March 30. However, the Council will meet at 5:00 o'clock p.m. March 27, 1967, to condsider the bids for the North Main Storm Sewer. Bids will be received on March 22. 1967.
