1966 08 02 CC Minutes, Special4176 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOM August 2, 1966 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in special session on Tuesday, August 2, 1966 at 6:30 a.m..at the Holiday Inn,. with the following members in attendance: Patrick Ball Clem M. Massey Don M. Hullum A. At. Braswell Albert Fanestiel Raymond T. Donnelly Seaborn Cravey Fritz Lanham George Chandler Absent: Edna Oliver Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman. Councilman Councilman Mayor' City Manager City Attorney City Clerk The City Council discussed, with Air. Masterson, the city's fiscal agent, the possibility of issuring time warrants, if necessary, to,finance a portion of the sanitary sewer improvements that are recommended by the Turner, Collie C Braden, Inc., study. This matter will be placed on the Council agenda for August 11th for further consideration. On motion by Mr. Braswell, seconded by Air. Fanestiel, the Council voted unanimously to request Mr. Masterson to' investigate the possibility of refunding $740,000.00 of City of Baytown assumed bonds that are held by American General Life Insurance Company of Galveston. The Council authorized Mr. Masterson to inform American General that the City of Baytown would be interested in refunding the out- standing bonds with City.of Baytown bonds bearing interest rate at 4.036 percent and with a ten year option.. Air. Masterson is to report back to the Council on the results of this contact. At this point Mr. Fanestiel, Mayor Cravey and Mr, Hullum left the meeting. Request Easement General Telephone Company The City Manager presented, orally, a request of the General Telephone Company for an easement along the south side of Roseland Park. This would be an extension of an existing easement from the park caretaker's house to Cedar Bayou stream. In view of the lack of formal request giving detailed information on the plans for the telephone company easement, Air. Ball moved to reject the request as presented. Council- man Donnelly seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Ball, Donnelly, Massey Mayor Pro Tem Braswell Nays: None Adiournment There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was ad- journed. nn ..
