However, in discussing this matter with the architect it was pointed out to the City
Manager that the contract between the City and the architect included the following
provisions:
"Article 3.4.4 If more extensive representation at
this site is required, the condistions under which such
representation shall be furnished and the project re-
presentative selected, employed and directed, shall be
agreed to by the owner and the architect and set forth
in an exhibit to this agreement."
After a discussion, on motion by Councilman Ball, seconded by Councilman Donnelly,
the Council voted unanimously to authorize the City ,Manager to proceed with inter-
viewing applicants for the position of full -time inspector on the City Hall- Community
Center project. The City Manager will narrow the field and the best qualified one
or two applicants will be submitted to the Council with the architect's approval.
An inspector would then be employed by the Council to be responsible to the architect.
The inspector will be paid by the City through the architect. He will submit reports
to the City Manager and Council, as requested.
