1966 07 27 CC Minutes, Special4166 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEET- ING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN July 27, 1966 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on Wednes- day, July 27, 1966 at 6:30 a.m., at the Holiday Inn with the following members in attendance: Patrick Ball Don M. Hullum Albert Fanestiel Raymond T. Donnelly Seaborn Cravey Fritz Lanham Absent: Clem M. Massey A. M. Braswell George Chandler Edna Oliver Councilman, Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor City Manager Councilman Councilman City Attorney City Clerk The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cravey and.the following business. was transacted: Discussion - Full Time Inspector City Hall - Community Center Project There was a discussion of the employment of.a full -time inspector for the City Hall- Community Center job. At a previous meeting the City Council had authorized the City Manager to employ an inspector to be paid by the City and supervised- by the City. However, in discussing this matter with the architect it was pointed out to the City Manager that the contract between the City and the architect included the following provisions: "Article 3.4.4 If more extensive representation at this site is required, the condistions under which such representation shall be furnished and the project re- presentative selected, employed and directed, shall be agreed to by the owner and the architect and set forth in an exhibit to this agreement." After a discussion, on motion by Councilman Ball, seconded by Councilman Donnelly, the Council voted unanimously to authorize the City ,Manager to proceed with inter- viewing applicants for the position of full -time inspector on the City Hall- Community Center project. The City Manager will narrow the field and the best qualified one or two applicants will be submitted to the Council with the architect's approval. An inspector would then be employed by the Council to be responsible to the architect. The inspector will be paid by the City through the architect. He will submit reports to the City Manager and Council, as requested. Adjournment The motion was made and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
