MINUTES OF THE SPEICAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
March 18, 1966
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on
Friday, March 18, 1966 at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Room.of the Baytown City Hall
with the following members in attendance:

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Pro Tem C. M. Massey, afterwhich
the following business was transacted:
Hold Hearing - Proposed Annexation Additional Strips Tri -City Beach Road and Interstate 10
Mayor Pro Tem Massey opened the public hearing upon the proposed annexation
of additional strips along Interstate 10 and along Tri -City Beach Road. After some
discussion relative to the proposed routing of the strips and there being no one in
the audience to offer comments either for or against the annexation, Councilman
Donnelly moved to close the public hearing called on the proposed annexation along
Tri -City Beach Road and Interstate No. 10. Councilman Braswell seconded the motion.
The vote follows:

Further Discussion CATV Service
The Council discussed CATV Service for Baytown and was once again approached
by Joe Zorn, local attorney, to grant his client, Southwest CATV. Inc an opportunity
to present their proposal. After giving Mr. Zorn ample time to be heard, Councilman
Donnelly moved that the Council abide by its action of March 10th. His motion died
for want of a second. Clem Kovar, a local business man, suggested that the Council
study the requests for a CATV franchise and not rush in awarding same. Mr. Ramsey
stated that his client is aware of F.C.C. regulations and wishes to leave the
proposal as submitted. Councilman Braswell moved that voting on the company to be
awarded the franchise be postponed until the regular meeting on March 24, 1966.
Councilman Hullum seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Braswell, Hullum and Donnelly.
Nays: Mayor Pro Tem Massey.

7 Councilman Hullum moved for the meeting to adjourn. Councilman Braswell seconded
the motion. The ayes were unanimous and Mayor Pro Tem Massey declared the meeting
adjourned.
