1965 12 30 CC Minutes, Special4053 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN December 30, 1965 The. City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in Special Session on Thurs- day, December 30, 1965 at 5:00 p.m., in the Baytown.City Hall with the following members in attendance: C. Al. Massey Councilman , Don M. Hullum Councilman A. M. Braswell Councilman J.'C. Huron Councilman Seaborn Cravey Mayor Fritz Lanham City Manager Edna Oliver City Clerk Absent: Robert Barnes Councilman Raymond T. Donnelly Councilman George Chandler City Attorney illayor Cravey called the meeting to order for the purpose of considering the terms of an agreement between the County, School District and City for the improvement of Baker Road extension. Authorize - Execute Agreement City Manager Lanham reviewed the terms of the agreement which will provide for the extension and improvement of Baker Road, from Garth Road to North Main Street and will serve the new Sterling High School which is scheduled to open in September, 1966. The County will prepare the plans and specifications, to contract for and supervise the construction of curbs, gutters, inlets and manholes to construct the storm sewers and pave the surface of the road. The City will pay the cost of constructing the man- holes and inlets and furnish one -half of the cost of the storm sewers. The School District will pay the remaining cost of the storm sewer pipe and for the installation of curbs and gutters along the east side of Baker Road. Councilman Huron moved to adopt the ordinance authorizing the execution of the agreement for the improvement of Baker Road extension.-Councilman Massey seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Massey, Hullm , Braswell and Huron Mayor.Cravey Nays: None The caption of the ordinance follows: ORDINANCE NO. 767 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND GOOSE CREEK CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR THE-IMPROVEMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF BAKER ROAD; STATING CER- TAIN OF THE PRINCIPAL TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; APPROVING FORM AND SUBSTANCE OF AGREBiFANT AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; FINDING THAT A SUFFICIENT APPROPRIATION HAS BEEN MADE TO PAY THE'CITY'S OBLIGATION UNDER THE AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
