The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on Wednesday,
March 17, 1965 at 6:30 p.m+ in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall with the fol-
lowing members in attendance:

Mayor Pro Tem Huron called the meeting to order and the Invocation was offered.
He then stated that the special meeting was being held for the purpose of canvassing
the returns of the Bond Election held Saturday, March 6, as provided by the City Char-
ter.
Canvassing Returns and Declaring Results - Ordinance
Members of the City Council, the City Manager and Director of Finance canvassed
the returns of the Bond Election held March 6 by verifying the election totals of
the eleven precincts as submitted by the Election Judges. The City Manager then
introduced and read an ordinance declaring the results of the election and authorizing
the City Council to issue the bonds described in the seven (7) successful issue.
Councilman Badgett moved to adopt the ordinance as read. Councilman Lively seconded
the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Badgett, Cravey and Lively

ORDINANCE NO. 795
AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ON THE 6TH DAY OF MARCH, 1965, CONTAINING OTHER PRO-
VISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS ADOPTION.
Delay Discussion Appraisal of Assets - Water and Sewer System - Masterson
The Council deferred a discussion with Mr. Tom Masterson, of the firm of Under-
wood, Neuhaus C Company, on his recommendation that an appraisal be made of the city
water and sewer fixed plants prior to the sale of the revenue bonds, because of the
interest shown by Councilmen Barnes and Clark at the last meeting. Should a report
be given in detail by Air. Masterson, it would be necessary for him to meet with the
Council again to answer any inquiries Messrs. Clark and Barnes may have to present.
He will meet with the Council at its regular meeting, April 8th.

Retain Services - M. C. Bobbitt C.P.A.
Councilman Lively moved to retain the services of 10. C. Bobbitt, CPA as the
City's auditor for the fiscal year, 1964 -65. Councilman Cravey seconded the motion.
The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Badgett, Cravey and Lively

Council - School Board Committees to Discuss Water Extension New School Site
James A. Davis, architect, asked the council to expedite the extension of a
water main to serve the new School building which is to be constructed at a site
near the intersection of North Main and Baker Road extension. The Council had here-
tofore given permission to tap into the city's line on Baker road but a temporary line
would cost the School approximately $3,821.00 and he wanted to eliminate this cost, if
possible. It was agreed to let the Council- School Board Committee review the problem
and see if a possible solution can be reached. The results of the meeting will be re-
ported to the Council.
Dinner Meeting - Council and Citizens Advisory Committee Chairmen
. The City Coucnil will host the Chairmen of the Citizens Advisory Committee at
a dinner meeting Tuesday, March 23rd.

Councilman Badgett moved for the meeting to adjourn. Councilman Lively seconded
the motion. The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor Pro Tem declared the meeting ad-
journed.
