MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
April 15, 1964
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on Wed-
nesday, April 15, 1964 at 6 :30 p.m. in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall
with the following members in attendance:

The meeting was called to order and the Invocation was offered, afterwhich the
Mayor called for the first order of business which was canvassing the votes of the
April 7th General Municipal Election.
Resolution - Canvassing Election Returns - April 7
After verification of election totals as to the eleven precincts within the
City limits, the City Manager introduced and read a resolution declaring the results
of the election. Councilman Ansley moved to adopt the resolution as read. Council-
man Badgett seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Cravey, Clark, Badgett, Ansley and Lively
Mayor Liggett
Nays: None

RESOLUTION NO. 414-64
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE REGULAR
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ON THE 7TH DAY OF APRIL, 1964, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ELECTING THREE (3) COUNCILMEN FROM THE RESPECTIVE
DISTRICTS NOS. ONE (1), FOUR (4) AND FIVE (5), DE-
CLARING THE RESULTS OF SAID ELECTION; FINDING THAT
NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION WAS DULY AND PROPERLY HELD
AND THE RETURNS THEREOF MADE BY THE PROPER OFFICIALS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS.
Administered Oath of Office - Two Councilmen. Barnes and Cravey
J. Robert Barnes and Seaborn Cravey were administered the Oath of Office as
Councilmen from Districts 1 and 4 respectively for the two ensuing years by Judge
Wendell Odom. Congratulations were extended to the new City Officials. Outgoing
Councilman Ansley expressed her appreciation to the Council, City employees and
citizens of Baytown for the cooperation and courtesies extended to her during her
tenure of service on the City Council, afterwhich an appreciation Plaque and
personal gifts were presented to her.
Miscellaneous
An Orientation Meeting will be held in the Council Room of the City Hall, Fri-
day. April 17, at 1 :00 p.m. to aquaint the new Councilmen with the multiple duties
of the several departments of the City.

Adjournment
Councilman Badgett moved for the meeting to adjourn. Councilman Lively se-
conded the motion. The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor declared the meeting
adjourned.
