MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
August 20, 1963
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in a special meeting
called for the purpose of studying the proposed budget for the fiscal year
1%3 -64, on Tuesday, August 20, 1%3 at 6:30 p.m, in the Council Room of the
Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance:

Kenneth E. Badgett Councilman
Velma J. Ansley Councilman
M. E. Lively Councilman
J. C. Huron Councilman
C. L. Liggett, N.D. Mayor
J. B. LeFevre City Manager
The Mayor called the meeting to order. Since a matter of pressing im-
portance was called to the attention of the Council, they agreed to a dis-
cussion of the scope of work add other items that would be included by our
consulting engineering firm in the preparation of the application for Federal
funds under the 701 program. After a rather lengthy discussion a motion was
made by Councilman Cravey to accept recommendation of City Manager J. B.
LeFevre to include the cost of finishing the work begun by the Engineering
Department of revising our - property ownership maps in our application for
financial assistance under the 701 program; also to include the cost of
aerial photography. The motion was seconded by'Councilman Huron. The vote
follows:
Ayes: Councilmen. Cravey, Cook, Badgett, Ansley, Lively and Huron
Mayor Liggett
N6ys: None
Resolution - Request for Texas State Department of Health to assist in
Comprehensive Planning
The following resolution was presented for Council consideration.
Councilman Cravey moved the resolution be passed as read. Councilman Lively
seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Cravey, Cook, Badgett, Ansley, Lively and Huron
Mayor Liggett
Nays: None

CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN DESIGNATES
ENGINEERING FIRM AS PLANNING CONSULTANTS TO PRE-
PARE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING OF THE URBAN AREA
With these items of formal business attended to, the Council directed
its attention for the balance of the evening to an informal discussion of the
proposed budget.
