1962 02 15 CC Minutes, Special1721 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN February 15, 1962 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on Thursday,. February 15, 1962, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Room of the Bay- town City-Hall with the following members in attendance: Absent: Seaborn Cravey C. A. Hansen Velma J. Ansley Roy H. Mayor Pro Tem Ward appointed a committee composed of Councilmen Bryan, Hansen, Hughes and City Manager LeFevre to study the bids and make recommend- ations for purchase of a Chipper at the February 22nd meeting. Skip Letter - Non - Signers Paving Assessments - West Main Street Councilman Hansen moved to approve the City of Baytown underwriting the amount of $1,084.00 for four (4) parcels of land abutting upon West Main Street now under construction to be improved by Brown & Root. Inc., whose owners have not secured the contractor in payment of the assessments against the respective properties. Council- man Ansley seconded the motion. The vote follows: Ayes: Councilmen Cravey, Hansen, Ansley, Hughes and Bryan Mayor Clayton Nays: None Advertise Bids - Repairs County -City Jail Building City Manager LeFevre reported that he had received a letter from V..V.Ramsey stating that.the County would assume 50% of the repair costs on the County -City Jail building provided it did not exceed $ 800.00 for theri prorate share. The repairs consist of a new roof, heater and plumbing replacements. The City Manager and Councilman Ward will meet with the Commissioners Court and discuss the existing problems and maintenance needs of the Jail building. Adiournement Councilman Ansley moved that the meeting be adjourned. Councilman Cravey sec- onded the motion.
