Authorize - Purchase Right -oiWav - Extension of Narcille Street
City Manager LeFevre reported that he had made an investigation of the re-
port that a home is to be erected at the dead end of Narcille at Sheridan Drive and
found it to be true. He-learned that the house will be located in the proposed
northerly right -of -way extension of Narcille Drive as included in "Master Plan
for Thoroughfares:, adopted by the City Council, July 27, 1961. After talking
with the owner he learned that preliminary work had been done on the property in
preparation for construction of the house. This work consisted of hauling in fill
sand, staking the location of the house and the "rought in" installation of the
plumbing. After explaining the City's need for this right -of -way, the owner agreed
to sell the property to the City of Baytown for $2,750.00, plus his actual cost of
the preliminary work. Since the materials can be salvaged, the only remaining
cost will be the labor which was estimated to be approximately $300.00, Council-
man Cravey moved to authorize the City Manager to complete purchase of this prop- .
erty for the City of Baytown as a proposed right -of -way for the extension of Nar-
cille Drive; cost of the property and incidentals not to exceed $3,000,00. Council-
man Hughes seconded the motion. The vote follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Cravey, Ward, Ansley, Hughes

by Councilman Cravey. The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor declared the meet-
ing adjourned.
