1959 09 29 CC Minutes, Special1393 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN Septamber 29, 1959 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on Tuesday, September 29, 1959 at 5:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance: P. H. Mears W. D. Reeves K. E. Badgett I W. L. Ward 4 Lacy tusk J. B. LeFevre A. V. Barber Absent: Al Clayton R. H. Pruett Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Mayor Pro Tem Acting City Manager Finance Director Councilman Mayor The Mayor Pro Tem called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted: Open Bids - Two (2) Cars - Police Department Bids for two (2) cars for the Police Department were opened and tabulated as follows: One (1) 1959 Chevrolet 4 door sedan $2,479.27 Less Federal Tax 168.00 Difference $2,311.27 One (1) 1959 Chevrolet 4 door sedan $2,479.27 Less Federal Tax 1�68,CC Difference J72,311.27 Total both cars Less Allowance for 1956 and 1958 Chevrolets Total Bid Buck Turner Chevrolet Company One (1) 1959 Chevrolet 4 door sedan $2,844.95 Less Allowance on 1956 Chevrolet $1,C95.09 Difference $1,749.86 One (1) 1959 Chevrolet 4 door sedan $2,84!1.95 Less Allowance on 1958 Chevrolet 91,345,09 Difference $1,499.86 Total Bid $3 ,1249.72 $4,622.54 $1,45C.00 $3,172.54 Councilman Mears moved to accept the low bid of Thad Felton of Baytown in the amount of $3,172.54. Councilman Badgett seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: Roll Call: Ayes: Councilman Mears Nays: None Ward Badgett Reeves Mayor Pro Tem Lusk Letter - State Department of Health - Dr. Crossman Acting City Manager LeFevre read a letter from the State of Texas Department of Health advising the Council that the appointment for Dr. L. W. Grossman, City Health Officer terminates October 5, 1959. • Councilman Reeves moved to instruct Acting City Manager LeFevre to contact Dr. Crossman and ask him if he Uas willing 1394 to continue his service as City Health Cfficer and advise the Council at the next meeting. Councilman Mears seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: Roll Call: Ayes: Councilman Mears Nays: None " Ward ° Badgett ° Reeves Mayor Pro Tom Lusk Adtournment Councilman Mears moved that the meeting adjourn.
