Fire Insurance Hey Rate Lowered
Fire Chief Lintelman presented a letter which he had received from the Chief
nigineer of _the town rating unit of the State Board of Insurance, Austin, changing
, Fill the fire insurance key rate for.Baytown from 00.38.per $100 to $0.30 per $100.00
of
protection. This is the lowest rate that.has ever been assigned to Baytown
and this resulted because of Baytownts steady-progressive growth in equipment,
man- power, fire stations and.:the enforcement of the cityts building code.
McAlister - Barrymore Drive
F• L• McAlister, 1221 Barrymore Drive, met.with the Council, at its request,
relative to the installation of curb and-gutter along Barrymore Drive in lieu of
an easement dedication made to the city for the laying of an interceptor line froip
the Park Street Disposal Plant to the West Main Disposal Plant. When this matter
was first brought_before.the.Council, March 28th, 1957, it was thought that the
oral agreement was.made with Ate• McAlister bnly and the Council had agreed to the
installation of such, however, upon investigation it was found that the general
impression was given to all residents on the west side of Batrymore that curb and
gutter would be installed from the top of the hill to the railroad track, a distance
of 12500 feet more or less. &. McAlister-would name no certain party as having
made the exact statement but he did imply that in all of his talks with city
personnel,= _he:.was_iade to believe that this work would be done for all in lieu
of the dedicated: easement. •Ir. McAlister was asked to meet: with the Council at its
February 13th meeting for a definite answer from the Council on the problem.
AdJournment
