Oomoilman Mayton moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting of June 13th and they be approved. Councilman Mears seconded the motion. Davison and Bailey, representatives of the Baytown Housing Anthority, presented a plat of two parcels of land Which the Housing Anthority proposes to purchase in order to build additional Pablic Housing Units as approved by election March, 1956. It was proposed that fifty (50) units be constructed on a parcel located at the southwest corner of the Lerner tract and thirty (30) units be con- structed at a location Ding North of West Texas Avenue. Councilman Clayton moved to approve the locations; the City Clerk be instructed to !furnish letters to the Federal Government, through the local. Housing Board, of the action of the Council. This does not include the cost construction of a ramp. The Council discussed the cost estimae, afterwhich, the City Manager Was instructed to solicit bid proposals on the construction of a 12 -gunge 61 fence for the next regular meeting. Rewind le130 - Meet Whin Street Licht= The City Manager asked the Council to clarify the locating of the approved 15,000 lumen mercury vapor street lights on West Main and Lee Drive. At the regular meeting of June 13th, the Council voted to accept the recumndation of the engineering department of the Houston Lighting and Power Conp oy relative to the replacement of the present 2,500 indandescent Street lights With 15,000 lumen mercury vapor lights, however, the fitly lights included in the reco®endation were the existing lights. When the Civic Club presented the proposal to the Ownc11, at #A February 14th meeting, ten additional lights Were to be installed also; these Were the locations in question• After some discussion, Oonmailman Swain moved to rescind the action taken by the Council, relative to the Street Lighting of West Main, at the June 13th meeting; further Studs► vill be given the West Main Civic Club's proposal before final action is taken by the Council.
