1952 09 02 CC Minutes, SpecialMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF TRF. CITY CGUNCIL OF THF. CITY OF BAYTOWN, TFXAS September 2, 1952 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Tpxas, met in special session on Tuesday, September 2, 1952, at 7:30 P. m. with the following members in attendance: J. A. Ward Mayor R. B. Bergeron Councilman W. E• Lawless Councilman M. L. Campbell Ceuncibm n R. H. Pruett Councilmen W. D• Reeves Councilman H. M. Campbell Councilman C. D. Middleton City Manager George Chandler City Attorney Absent: Edna Oliver City Clerk Mrs. Johnson - County Health Nurse Mrs. Joan Johnson, County Health Nurse, requested a nurse to assist her in her duties for the welfare of the people. The cost would be anproximately £250 ner month plus car allowance. The Council took this matter under consideration! Richardson - M11bvdale Addition No. 5 Mr. F. A Richardson presented a plat of Milbydale Addition No. 5 and petitioned the Council for final approval of the annex. 0buncilman M. L. Campbell moved to give final approval and Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: Roll Call: Ayes: Mayor Ward Nays: None Councilman Bergeron " Lawless " M. L. Campbell " Pruett " Reeves " H. M. Campbell Purdy - OF,ening STFeet Mr. Ted Purdy appeared before the Council and asked that the street running from Houston Street to Main Street be completed and opeded and that he be allowed to nut curb and gutter on one side. The council instructed the City Manager and City Attorney to see if the street was properly dedicated and to determine if the city could spend money to open that street under the terms of the charter. Williams - Fair Park Subdivision No. 1 Mr. J. L. Williams appeared before the Council asking for approval of Fair Park Subdivision No. 1, but vfter discussion, Mr. Williams withdrew his request. The City Manager was instructed to check the subdivision ordinance concerning the effects of §aid ordinance within a five (5) mile radius of the d ty limits. Adiournment Councilman Reeves moved for the meeting to adjourn. Councilman Lawless seconded the motion. The ayes were unanimous and Us Mayor declared the meeting adjourned. �TYayor J.
