MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTCEN, TEXAS
August 30, 1951
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in special session on
Thursday, August 30, 1951 at 7 :39 p. m. in the Council Room of the Baytown City
Hall with the following members in attendance:.

The Mayor called the meeting to order.
Selection - Bonding Company
The Council reviewed the proposals of the six bonding companies on the pro-
posed $2,005,000 bond issue. These bids had been submitted on July 27, 1951 but
it was.agreed, at that time,.to table any definite action until an analysis could
be made of each bid. Councilman Reeves moved to accept the bid of J. W. Branden-
berger of the firm of Rotan, Mosle and Moreland of Houston. Councilman H. M.
Campbell seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows:

Chairs - Counci - Lbamber
The Chair Committee, as appointed by Mayor Ward, presented a display of three
different type swivel chairs and asked the Council to select the one most suitable
for the Council Chamber. Councilman Reeves moved to purchase an extra chair for
the Corporation Judge and include it in the same order. Councilman Bergeron
seconded the motion. The roll call vote wasp asfollows:

Councilman Pruett moved to purchase nine (9) leather unholstered swivel chairs
and one (1) secretarial chair from Finger B others at a cost of $750.00. Councilman
Reeves seconded the motion. Theroll call vole was as follows.
